Married – at Mother’s Funeral

When P Sanjeevi Rajan’s mother died whilst buying wedding accessories for his nuptials, it seemed certain to delay, or at least disrupt, his wedding to his fiancé Ms R Sasikalah. Yes the plans changed but only to the extent that the wedding was brought forward two weeks to last Tuesday and held in front of his mother’s coffin during her funeral!

As he explained later, the wedding could have been delayed to a later date, but in that event Mr Rajan’s mother would not have been there. So the solution was obvious to him and his bride: marry in front of his mother’s coffin and at least she was still there!

His bride agreed saying that she got to pay her last respects to her now Mother-in-Law, despite the unfortunate circumstances surrounding the event! And her father confirmed that both families thought it was a good idea.

Is this the weirdest wedding ever?
