Walt Disney World, just outside of Orlando, Florida, may the stuff of which small children’s dreams are made, but the mega-theme park is also very skilled at creating dream-like weddings. In fact, the resort hosts over 2500 weddings each year. You can arrive at your wedding in Cinderella’s carriage, have Disney music played by a violinist at your ceremony, and even invite a tuxedo-clad Mickey to your reception. From modest to extravagant, Disney caters to all wedding tastes.

Disney Wedding Venues
Walt Disney World offers five distinct locations for your wedding ceremony:
• Disney Wedding Pavilion – The venue of choice for the majority of Disney bridal couples, this Victorian-style, palm-fringed solarium is stylish non-denominational chapel, overlooking the lagoon and Cinderella’s Castle. The wedding pavilion can accommodate weddings with up to 18 guests.
• Sunset Pointe – Located near the Polynesian Resort, this romantic spot boasts the lagoon and Cinderella’s Castle as a back-drop. The location can accommodate weddings with up to ten guests.
• Disney Wedding Gazebo – Located in front of the New England-themed Disney Yacht Club, this wedding gazebo sits in the middle of a rose garden. It can accommodate wedding with up to 18 guests.
• Seabreeze Point — Evoking 1940s Americana style, this white outdoor gazebo sits along the shores of Crescent Lake in front of the Disney Boardwalk Resort. The gazebo can accommodate weddings with between 10 and 18 guests.
• Sunrise Terrace – Located in front of the Wilderness Lodge Resort, this outdoor wedding venue stands in front of a cascading waterfall and a towering stand of pine trees. Sunrise Terrace can accommodate wedding parties of between 10 and 18 guests.
Wedding Basics
Guests getting married at Walt Disney World are required to stay at least four nights in a Walt Disney owned or operated hotel. There’s a lot from which to choose. You can stay in the elegant turn of the century themed Grand Floridian, the rustic but comfortable Wilderness Lodge, the modest Caribbean Beach Resort, or one of 17 other onsite resorts.
The basic Disney wedding package includes your choice of one of the five wedding venues listed above, flowers for the bride and groom, a violinist for the ceremony, a charter limousine for four hours, a wedding cake and Champagne, a personalized wedding website, a photographer and a wedding album of 20 images, and a Disney fairytale wedding certificate.
Walt Disney World has an entire dedicated wedding planning staff to assist you with all of the details. When you make your deposit on your wedding, you will be assigned your own wedding planner to work with you throughout the whole process.
Unique Disney Touches
Walt Disney World offers a number of unique additions to make your wedding that much more special. Among these are additional flowers, a videographer to capture your ceremony on video tape, additional musicians, additional photographs, and arriving at your ceremony in Cinderella’s horse-drawn carriage.
Disney can also make arrangements for food and beverage service, from a small cocktail party to a full-blown reception.
Honeymooning at Walt Disney World
After the ceremony, you can relax and enjoy the many wonders of the Walt Disney World complex. Explore the Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Animal Kingdom, or MGM Walt Disney Studios theme parks. Take in a round of golf or cool off at Typhoon Lagoon water park. What’s more, there’s shopping, world-class dining, and Mickey, too. You’re also just a short drive to the Atlantic coast and the Kennedy Space Center there.
