The bachelor party is supposed to be a great occasion that marks the groom’s final days as a single man. Handled correctly, a bachelor party can be just that, a way to say goodbye to the single life in the company of your friends. If it is handled wrong, though, the bachelor party can be disastrous on many levels. Here are some suggestions that might help you to have a great last bash as a single man.

Keep Your Fiancée in Mind
Now it is true that you are not yet married, but you have to keep in mind that as soon as she said yes, some kind of commitment was made. Some bachelor parties become wildly indulgent, and the future groom needs to keep in mind that what he does on this night could have consequences in the future. You don’t want to start your marriage out keeping secrets, so if your friends are planning something that you think might meet with some real disapproval, then you probably shouldn’t go through with it.
Make Your Wishes Known
It might be a last party, and your best friend might be planning it, but that doesn’t mean that it is your friends’ party. If there is anything you would really rather not do or have done to you at your bachelor party, make sure that you make that known to your best man. Some best men might have too much of the wild side in them to be able to carry out your wishes, so you should probably make sure that you tell a couple other friends who will be attending the party as well. After all, this is supposed to be fun for you.
Be Flexible
The common and popular notion of the bachelor party is a wild affair, where the liquor flows freely and the strippers are unfettered. If this is something you would enjoy at your bachelor party, then that of course is fine. However, if this is not the kind of activity you are comfortable with, remember that there are plenty of options when it comes to having a bachelor party. You could have day or even weekend-long parties that incorporate some of your favorite activities. A fun bachelor party could be paintball all day and then a night out for drinks. Another idea is the guys can all get together for a weekend camping trip previous to the wedding week. More couples are also starting to combine their stag and stagette parties, so if you really want to be with your sweetie, you don’t have to be apart from her on this night either.
Be Careful
Above all, be careful. Sometimes harmless jokes can start to build and get out of control. If you sense that the fun mood is taking a turn for the worst, run as fast as you can. A lot of bachelor parties revolve around some kind of torment of the future groom, but it can get out of hand. Make sure that there will be some responsible friends around who can act as voices of reason and make sure no permanent harm is done.

Thanks for sharing! Great advice! We always tell our bachelor party clients that it should be about making memories(good memories) not secrets. It can be a fine line with some groups. As long as the groom is clear from the beginning on what he wants… everything should turn out alright.
